About us

Scope was founded in the early 2000s to provide independent consultancy services to companies wishing to outsource IT projects.

The company was founded by Dave Ayres, who has a wide range of experience working in the global software sector, having worked on both the software developer and service provider sides. Dave worked for an Irish Government Agency in the mid-80s, he then moved to Lotus Development working in a variety of roles across both the Cambridge Mass., and Dublin development groups. In the mid 90s, he setup and developed DLG Software Services, a highly-acclaimed IT services company which was subsequently acquired by Gladstone plc. Clients included Microsoft, Lotus, Symantec, Palm, Oracle, Corel. Prior to developing Scope, Dave became a shareholder of, and worked with, the Board of Adaptive Mobile Security at startup stage. Adaptive are a leading developer of content filtering solutions for mobile/cellular networks.

Since then we have provided a range of services including outsourcing services, change management, business development and software testing.

We also provide translation, software testing and software development services using experienced local technical expertise, which are managed on a project basis by highly experienced Project Managers in our Limerick office.
